step to following the USDA’s My Pyramid Dietary Guidelines. It is
a great beginning to a healthier lifestyle.

concept of 5-3-1 for Healthy Kids
was created to simplify the nutrition and physical
activity messages that children and adults are being encouraged to
follow.

the major shortcomings in the American diet and lifestyle choices.

Most
people do not meet the recommendations for dairy, fruits, vegetables or
physical activity. Including additional servings of fruits, vegetables
and dairy can be simple as well as nutritious and delicious. Being more
physically active on a daily basis is one of the most important things
people can do for their health.
