What is 5-3-1?
5-3-1 for Healthy Kids
is a Connecticut statewide initiative developed by a coalition of organizations and agencies whose primary purpose is to promote wellness. The purpose of 5-3-1 for Healthy Kids is to help Connecticut residents take the first step in putting the 2005 Dietary Guidelines and the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) My Pyramid into ACTION!

5-3-1 Stands for...

5-9 servings of Fruits and Vegetables each day

3 servings of Dairy each day

1 hour of Physical Activity each day
